In May 2022, one year has passed since the opening of Palácio Ficalho and the start of a broad project aimed at the community of Serpa and all those who visit the Alentejo.
The inauguration, in May 2021, was attended by the then president of the municipality of Serpa, Tomé Pires an important ally in starting this project. Patrimonium – Management and Promotion of Cultural Assets, which technically supports Palácio Ficalho, was represented by Joel Moedas-Miguel, historian, responsible for this company specializing in heritage.
Since its opening to the public, Palácio Ficalho has made dozens of guided tours, welcomed private initiatives and advanced with a restoration project that aims to certify the space as one of the most important cultural tourism destinations in the country.
