Palácio Ficalho is a manor house from the second half of the 17th century, integrated into the medieval wall that surrounds the historic center of Serpa. The name comes from the “Mello” family, first lords, and then counts and marquises of Ficalho. Considered one of the most emblematic architectural buildings of Baixo Alentejo, it was classified as national monument in 2007.

The family project aiming at opening it to the public began in 2021.
